Remembering

Go ahead and mention my child,
the one that died, you know.
Don’t worry about hurting me further.
The depth of my pain doesn’t show.
Don’t worry about making me cry,
I’m already crying inside.
Help me to heal by releasing
the tears that I try to hide.
I’m hurt when you just keep silent,
pretending he didn’t exist.
I’d rather you mention my child,
knowing that he has been missed.
You ask me how I’m doing.
I say, “Pretty good,” or “Fine,”
But healing is something ongoing…
I feel it will take a lifetime.

Silent Child

My silent child
our precious baby,
Close to my heart
I'll keep you with me.

An important job
God has for you,
There is love to give,
and work to do.

He needs an angel
strong but small,
To shine light on many
and give love to all.

Before you go
I give you this,
half my heart
and one last kiss.

We'll miss you dearly
that we know,
But by God you were
chosen,
So to heaven, you must go

Dear Lord, please help
When reality is too cruel
When life is so lonely
And when the pain is too much to bear
We pray that you help us dear Lord
Please help us and guide us through it all.

As you show your love to Daniel
As you guide him through the after life
Please don't forget all those left behind
We pray for the strength to remember all the miracles
and every precious moment you've given us with him.
We pray for patience, to lessen the pain as only time will do.

Dear Lord, we pray for the courage to help and comfort one another.
Dear Lord, when our life on Earth has ended we pray for you
to embrace our spirits so we may see Daniel again some day.

In Jesus Name We Pray,
Amen
