And ya know what...I love you a million billion scmillion times...
"He Was Our Life"
Our son Jeffrey was born October 3, 1977 with a brain tumor that involved the entire left side of his head and part of the back of his head.  The tumor was successfully removed after a nine-hour surgery when he was three weeks old.  Part of his inner left ear along with the left side of his skull were also removed.  The diagnosis was Malignant Melanoma and the outlook was grim.  Jeffrey defied all odds and continued
to flourish.  He attended special education classes all his life and graduated from high school with honors.  After over 40 surgeries, some for tumor removal, others reconstructive procedures, Jeffrey grew into a most loving and caring young man.
Even though people shunned him because of his "different" appearance, Jeffrey was very social and loved being around people.  "I must say," (common phrase used by Jeff) he accomplished so much in spite of his limitations.  He grew beyond the ridicule and stares from unknowing people.  He loved life and even after finding out there was nothing more the medical profession could do for him he said, "I really don't have a lot to complain about in my life."
In August of 2004, a large tumor was removed from his neck.  Jeff did not rally back this
time and began to show signs of his illness.  Test results in November showed massive tumors
in every vital organ of his body.  Six weeks later on December 30th we lost our very courageous
son at the age of 27 to the very same condition he was born with.
Our lives are forever shattered, our hearts beyond
repair.  And yes, we are devastated
                             beyond words and totally disabled
                                by his loss.
                                 He was our life.

Malignant Melanoma
You are on our minds when we awake
You are every breath we take.
Missing you more with each passing day,
"And I must say," please Jeff,
help us find our way.

We are extremely proud of you,
The strength and courage you have shown.
Every day without you leaves us
Feeling lost and so alone.

You were a precious gift given to us
For 27 years.
Each day the emptiness overwhelms us
And the memories of you bring
a tidal wave of tears.

We didn't want you to suffer any more,
We had to let you go.
The pain of losing you intensifies,
It just continues to grow.

The knowledge you had of football stats
No one will ever surpass.
You're free now Jeff, to run
And catch that heavenly pass.
"And ya know what," we miss you and will love you forever.
Love you a million, billion, scmillion times,
Dad, Mom, Sheila and Ryan
