Birthday

Today your birthday was supposed to be
a day of happiness filled with glee.
You would want a puzzle one or two
a shirt of green or purple but not blue.

Money to buy some 2 ie
and maybe just maybe another key.
On the menu cake and ice cream
these for weeks had been your dream.

Light the candles your face would glow,
can you get them out with one big blow?
A day with laughter and a constant smile
filling hearts with happiness all the while.

Stuff to your program we would have to take
you reminded mommy she had to bake.
A birthday spanking David please,
till he did you would tease and tease.
And don’t forget the pinch to grow,
how this made the laughter flow.
Your party your happiness you would share
so much for others you always did care.
Your life your spirit was a gift,
tears and sadness you could lift.
You wanted all happy on your birthday,
this you accomplished in a special way.

Gone are your hugs and glowing face,
your joy and happiness have been erased
Replaced by lonliness and broken hearts,
way too soon you had to depart.

Till we remember where you are
even though it seems oh so far,
A place where there are no more tears
no crying sickness nothing to fear.

No sorrow or sadness for you to bear,
just a loving God who really did care.
So there is just one thing to do on this day
A look to heaven Happy Birthday to say.

Happy Birthday Beanee
              We miss you John Paul.....
Remembering...

I remember the way you did a puzzle each night
and how mad you got at a hockey fight,
the way you would laugh at Rodman's hair
and the special trip to the county fair.

I remember trips to the store to get your treat,
and how you would complain about your feet,
the cookies they gave you were so good to eat
and a race to the car the birdies to beat.

I remember your favorite shirt of green
and the way you always on me would lean,
the way you expected me always there
and how I could show you I really did care.

I remember how we would go the park to walk,
as we went along you would talk and talk,
the way you gave the ducks some bread,
always trying to see each one was fed.

I remember how you saw flowers so small,
and how you loved to hear the peacocks call,
the joy of the sight of the harvest moon
and the way you laughed at a big baboon.

I remember the keys you collected, each one you knew,
how much you enjoyed the city zoo,
a trip for the monkeys you wanted to see,
then you would laugh and say "Pots me."

I remember how you loved your brother so dear
when he was around you had nothing to fear,
“Cuckoo By-yah” is what you would say,
knowing he would find you, your game to play.

I remember how much your mom you would tease
how much she always tried so hard to please,
you knew just how to work to get your way,
filling her life with joy each new day.

I have so many memories filling my head,
it is hard to believe now you’re gone,
so many things we wanted to do
I can't believe it ended so soon!

I miss you John Paul
